Structural Dynamics of Wind Turbines

Structural dynamics of wind turbines A modern wind turbine is a complex engineering system. At first sight it is primarily a machine for converting kinetic energy into a usable electric form; usually with the wind creating lift forces when flowing along an aerodynamically shaped blade. This is the same principle as used in an airplane. But instead of lifting a plane into the air, on a wind turbine these forces translate into a mechanical torque on a shaft, which is driving a generator.
